Kei Truck Buyer's Guide: 1990-1996 Mitsubishi Minicab Mini Truck

Here's The Skinny

The Mitsubishi Minicab mini truck is the closely related to Suzuki, as it shares the same unique bolt pattern (4x114.3) while many of the parts are interchangeable between brands.

The biggest difference with the Mitsubishi Minicab is that it was engineered with SIMPLICITY TOP OF MIND.

Dumps are fairly common as is Automatic.

Air condition was a very rare option in these models.

These were less sought after as they were made without a differential lock option.  With that said, they can be easily lifted in most cases like the  as the Suzuki's and Daihatsu's kei truck . Common lifts put on these vehicles are between 2 to 4 inches. OEM ground clearance is middle of the road at 6.7”

Still, there are many variations including high roof models.

There were 2 primary engine configurations (SOHC and DOHC) as well as 1 very rare turbo model (older versions were supercharged). They made 39-64 hp and 38-61 lbs/tq.

Top speeds are typically 50-75mph.

Their simple design also makes them the heaviest at 1630 pounds.
