Here's The Skinny
The biggest differentiator when it comes to the Honda Acty, is that it is the only unibody kei truck. This simply means that the body and the bed of the truck are one unit.
The most common Honda Acty mini truck model is termed the SDX, equipped with "Realtime" 4WD, a 5 speed manual transmission and air conditioning. The ATTACK model, is typically a 4 speed outfitted with an extra low gear and differential lock.
Like most Front Wheel Drive vehicles, the Acty's engine sits over the rear wheels in a horizontal formation.
As the Acty's weight distribution is primarily situated in the rear of the vehicle, dump models are quite rare and restricted from dirt/sand loads.
Manuals remain the primary transmission while automatics appear seldomly.
The OEM ground clearance is tied with the Subaru Sambar for the highest at 7 & 1/2 inches. In addition it has a leaf spring rear suspension with coil front.
The wheels are a standard 4x 100 bolt pattern making it accessible to an array of aftermarket street wheels.
While the Acty has a high ground clearance, those who intend to take the truck off roading should do so cautiously sensitive parts, like down-facing radiators & air condition compressors are exposed. Those that do want to off road are recommended to add a 2 inch lift, but not higher.
One lesser known fact that is important to highlight is that there have been only 3 core body styles over the decades and ONLY 1 ENGINE configuration (E07Z), making it the easiest to obtain parts for.
The E07Z carbureted engine, puts out 52 HP, 45 pounds of torque and a top speed between 50-70 MPH. Being that it lights kei truck, weighing at 1476 pounds it has the highest rated, non highway driven, fuel economy making it perfect for cities.
